By Go Ask eve

We’ve seen a fair few conference venues in the City of London and beyond in our time as event managers. Each offers something different, whether it be that it’s conveniently connected, expertly run, impressively decorated, historical and iconic or pro for conference catering. We’ve shared our favourites to bring you the best the capital has to offer.

eve’s favourite for wow factor: The Pavilion at the Tower of London

The Pavilion at the Tower of London really is one of the best the capital has to offer when it comes to conference venues in the City of London. As venues go, it doesn’t get much more iconic than this.

A particularly popular choice for those hosting international visitors, this London landmark oozes luxury and it’s an eve favourite because it’s so unique. The venue itself is purpose-built and exclusive, closed off from public use, and your guests (of which you can invite up to 1,200) will feel like VIPs.

The environment is inspiring, engaging and conversation-starting, alongside high-tech A/V facilities included in the hire price, all making it the perfect conference venue in the City of London. There is a reception area for breakout space, and you can even book rooms within the tower itself if needed. Yes, please.

eve’s favourite for Corporate Social Responsibility: Goldsmiths’ Centre

Goldsmiths’ Centre is not only an ideal conference venue designed to promote productivity but also a charity – meaning that your booking fee contributes to the training of up-and-coming jewellers and silversmiths.

Having won awards as one of London’s best-designed workspaces, the Goldsmiths’ Centre wants to facilitate creativity, productivity and successful team meetings – and it shows. It combines light, bright space with historic features, and has a café designed for co-working for pre or post-conference catchups.

With a roof terrace boasting iconic skyline views for post-conference refreshments, this venue is inspiring all-round – and environmentally friendly: is there anything this venue doesn’t do?

eve’s favourite for history: Ironmongers’ Hall

Home to the city’s Ironmongers since the 1920s, this is a venue packed with history. As one of London’s twelve great Livery Halls, the clue is in the name: this venue is impressive.

eve loves the Tudor-style Great Hall for a country home feels somehow within a conference venue in the City of London, combining the amenities of the capital with the quiet of the country. But there are four impressive rooms to choose from depending on the size and style of your conference, whether you’re looking for a space for small teams to share ideas or industry-gathering events, all with flexible set-up arrangements and top-quality A/V to ensure your conference runs smoothly.

eve’s favourite for a unique pick: Founders’ Hall

If you’re looking for something a little different in your City of London conference venue, Founders’ Hall should do the trick.

Metal-clad and meticulously detailed, this spot has been home to London’s Worshipful Company of Founders – experts in bronze and brass workmanship – for over 650 years: and it shows. From the elegant and traditional reception room boasting a fireplace and oil paintings to the Livery Hall itself – porthole windows, mirrored walls – there are three unique event spaces to choose from here (or you can hire the whole venue if you please).

But it’s the décor of Founders’ Hall that makes it truly unique. Shields adorn the walls in the Hall, alongside striking red carpets and those impressive porthole windows. You’ll have trouble finding another conference venue in the City of London like this!

eve’s favourite for prestige: Clothworkers’ Hall

Crystal chandeliers, painted ceilings, stained glass, and entry by invitation only? We’re listening…

For a conference with a sense of occasion, Clothworkers’ Hall could be a top pick for you. It’s formal but flexible, where a central location meets historic luxury and modern facilities, and with six event spaces reflecting a different era available for hire. Whichever bygone time is best for the style of your event, there is a room for it here!

The Livery Hall is magnificently decorated with portraits of Honorary Liverymen, a grand piano and beautiful stained glass – all with those impressive crystal chandeliers overhead.

eve’s favourite for location: Plaisterers’ Hall

Location, location, location.

As one of London’s most central business venues, Plaisterers’ Hall ticks all the boxes. It’s grand, it’s impressive, it’s suitable for large conferences, corporate events, and it’s well-connected, just a short walk from St. Paul’s. It’s also kitted out with top tech designed for formal entertaining, dedicated conference catering and you’ll even have full flexibility on the design of your event.

The décor in each of this venue’s event spaces simply spell out sophistication, combining neoclassical splendour with modern-day technology to ensure that your conference is not only impressive and memorable but well-run.

eve’s favourite for outside space: The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn

Gray’s Inn is a hidden treasure. You wouldn’t expect such tranquillity from a conference venue in the City of London but set in five acres of private gardens (known as ‘The Walks’, which you can also hire for events during the summer), it’s a quiet spot free of distraction.

Inside, natural daylight is not hard to come by, and tradition meets tech. A/V equipment includes an LCD projector, screen, AMX touch panel and PA system and the Chancery Lane location of this venue makes it convenient and practical to attend. So, whilst you might feel like you’ve left the city, you couldn’t be better connected.
