“A striking modernist masterpiece, the RCP is considered one of London's most important post-war buildings.”
Royal College of Physicians London events venue hire
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is over 500 years old and the oldest medical college in England. Currently located in its fifth and current home, it houses a multi-award-winning conference and event venue, RCP London Events.
A truly unique building designed by the late Sir Denys Lasdun (of National Theatre fame) in 1964, it’s among the few buildings of its era to win a Grade 1 listing. As an event and conference space, it’s truly unique, too.
All revenue from events hosted at RCP London Events goes back into supporting core RCP activity, including its leading role in the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Why choose the Royal College of Physicians
- A highly adaptable 12-room space: go formal or relaxed, extravagant or intimate
- The perfect space for conferences, meetings, banquets and training
- 2 tiered auditoriums, a museum containing unique, rare artefacts, a library for hire and a medicinal garden for summer entertainment
- RCP London Events sits on the outer circle of Regent’s Park, making it a superb location in central London
- Full support from event managers, catering experts and in-house AV technicians
- Sustainability is a key part of everyday operations and day-to-day business: the RCP is the first and only royal college to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard and it also holds ISO 14001 standard certification for environmental best practice
- Seasonal menus and food packages with underlying health benefits
1Conferencing and meetings at RCP
An award-winning conference centre, the Royal College of Physicians is the ideal London location for high-profile conferences, presentations and exhibitions.
Its 12 rooms and theatres cater for conferences, exhibitions and meetings of all sizes. The purpose-designed conferencing facilities boast registration areas, tiered auditoriums, meeting rooms, exhibition spaces, dining areas, lecture theatres – and even a library.
For smaller meetings there are a number of more traditionally styled meeting rooms, such as the oak-panelled Censors’ Room and the book-lined Willan and Heberden Rooms, which are ideal for meetings up to 30.
2Private dinners at RCP
The Royal College of Physicians has a diverse range of dining spaces, from the small and intimate Censors’ room with it’s oak paneling and chandelier, to the majestic Dorchester Library and understated elegance of the Osler or Long rooms.
Whether it’s an informal lunch or international gala dinner, our Food and Beverage team creates mouth-watering menus, taking in everything, from the latest modern cuisine to more traditional classics – all tailored to your event and any dietary requirements. The team also prides itself on faithful reproductions of prestigious banquets too, served at the College throughout the centuries.
All dishes are prepared with quality, fresh ingredients, to suit almost every culture, religion and taste, while our wines are carefully selected to complement any dish, occasion or palate.
3Celebrations and Weddings at RCP
Formal? Tick. Spectacular? Tick. Intimate? Tick. The Royal College of Physicians can adapt to just about anything. With its spectacular Regent’s Park location and inimitable architectural heritage, the RCP is a genuinely impressive setting for celebrations and weddings (it’s licensed for Civil ceremonies).
Spacious and light-filled, the RCP oozes contemporary style and sophistication, making it ideal for parties, weddings and corporate hospitality. The Dorchester Library or the Censors’ Room, by contrast, offer a more historical and distinguished setting: think book-lined and oak panelled.
The Medicinal Garden is also well suited to outdoor weddings, receptions and outside catering, and we have a range of mouth-watering menus or can create something bespoke.
